A journalist (Lisa Biagiotti) discovers a park that is not what it seems, while local officials plan a new design to capture downtown’s renewed identity.
Versions of the Truth is based on the experiences of nearly 100 users of Pershing Square interviewed by filmmaker/journalist Lisa Biagiotti and filmmaker/planner John Moody in early 2016, and marketing materials for Pershing Square Renew, a nonprofit created by L.A. City Councilmember José Huizar to redesign the park. In May 2016, a team led by French firm Agence Ter won Renew’s international design competition. Construction has yet to begin.
